Trivia Tuesdays: Eros is Cupid

Welcome!

Another exciting prompt day here at Writer's Shelf! As we stated last week, we love trivia and learning all sorts of random (often seen as useless) information. Though, we're going to share a little known fact with you. There is no such thing as useless information. Everything you learn, even minor facts, can be used as a basis for a story. You learn how a hot air balloon works and you can use that in a steampunk adventure. Get updated on the basic behavior of animals and you have a supernatural shifter tale on your hands. Anything and everything can be used in some way. No matter how mundane or strange.

Our trivia fact for the day is one that pretty common knowledge. Cupid and Eros are counterparts to each other. Cupid comes from the Roman mythology and Eros is from Greek mythology. Both are gods of love and have specific roles in their mythos.

For more information go to Ancient History Encyclopedia to learn about Eros and go to Britannica for more about Cupid.

Now your goal is to write a short story featuring Cupid and/or Eros. Feel free to use any genre you want and the short story can be at any length. You can write a cyberpunk thriller with Cupid as a punk navigating the underground city or even explore Eros in a Sherlock Holmes-inspired mystery.

Happy writing!
