Weekly Prompts: Diamond Planet

It's time once again for our Weekly Prompt. You have from now until next Monday to write a story based on the prompt we will provide below. It doesn't matter how you interrupt the prompt or what genre you dare to venture into. Have fun with it and write until you feel the story has ended.

This week we have decided to go with a space theme for each of our Writer days and we hope we can inspire everyone to join along. All week we'll be providing space trivia and tidbits for your inspiration. Today we learned about a potential planet made of diamonds. 

Researchers have found that some planets out there might be made of diamonds which are made of carbon. To learn more about what makes an Earth-like planet and what makes a diamond-like planet, check out this article from CNET.com. Other research shows that the inside of this diamond planet may not be so pretty which comes from an article on Space.com that delves further into this mysterious planet. 

So your prompt for the week is to take the idea of a diamond planet and write a short story. This can take you to a fantasy world or you can explore from the lens of a scientist. We encourage any and every type of take on the concept that you can imagine.
