Quote Saturdays: Last Day of Holiday Week
Welcome!
We have two exciting prompts for you today! It's Quote Saturday and we have some exciting exercises in store for you. The first exercise we have is for you to select a quote about a holiday that we have listed below and write a short story based on it. Try to keep the story around a single event within 5 to 10 pages.
Here is your quote selection:
"At Christmas, tea is compulsory. Relatives are optional.”
―
“The darkness of the whole world cannot swallow the glowing of a candle.” —Robert Atlinger
“There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”—C.S. Lewis
For your second exercise, we challenge you to come up with a quote based upon a holiday that takes
place today and write a short story using that quote as an opening.
