Weekly Prompts: Calling All Heroes

It's a bird! It's a Plane! It's .... Superhero Week!

Last week we took a trip through time and this week, we're taking a trip to the skies with superheroes! Everyone knows what superheroes are thanks to Marvel and DC taking over the big screen to the streaming screen. Marvel hit it big with Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and all the other heroes that have been met since the first Iron Man. DC found more success hitting up the once teen soap network the CW with successful series like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Legends of Tomorrow, with the new addition of Superman & Lois

For your weekly prompt, think about your vision of superheroes. This could be a spoof on Superman or it could be a completely made-up superhero world. You can even take on a quirky or unusual story similar to Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Take some time to think about what powers your heroes have. Do they keep their identities a secret like Clark Kent and Superman, or are they proudly out with who they are like the Avengers?

After you come up with a cast of heroes, spend this week writing a short story about your supers. There is no limit on page/word count. Be sure to have fun.

If you need further inspiration check out these superhero titles:

Caped

Cosmic Girl

Powerless

Teen Titans

See These Bones

Gotham High
