Weekly Prompts: Holidays for Week of March 1

Welcome,

Last week we had a space theme for our weekly prompt so we put a lot of thought into what this week should be. You'd be surprised at how many holidays there are, and most of them are entirely made up of people celebrating days such as National Pet Day, daughter or son day, and more. So your weekly prompt challenge is to find a holiday that occurs this week and write a short story that either makes up the origins or incorporates the day.

We found a great resource called Holidays and Observances where you can find all the holidays that occur daily, weekly, and monthly.

A few of the holidays that occur today March 1 are Share a Smile Day, National Pig Day, and National Wedding Planning Day. You can even opt for weekly holidays such as National Pet Sitters Week, National Ghostwriters Week, and Lent. You can choose any holiday that occurs this week and if you'd like, you can include multiple holidays in your short story.

You have one week to get the short story. No word limit or genre limit.

Happy writing!
