Mayday Stories: Day 18 Llama Llama

Today's Storyaday prompt is perfect for llama lovers. We had so much fun with this and found it to be a humorous way of thinking outside the box. Check it out here for yourself if you want to do a prompt.

Hello Llama

Sitting in a coffee shop on a Saturday is one of life's greatest pleasures. The warmth of the sun through the windows heats the seats and creates sunny spots that cats would love to nap in. This was Mae's favorite place to go on Saturdays. To sit in a booth near the window, but in the corner to where she was half in sun and half in shade. She loved to lounge and linger the day away, drinking coffee and snacking on scones. Sometimes she splurged and got muffins. All was normal. Except this Saturday was anything but normal.

As she sipped her coffee, she happened to notice that she had company in the booth next to her. Rather unusual company at that. Mae was mid-sip when she noticed that the person sitting at the booth next to her wasn't a person at all. It was a llama. A llama with glasses and a scarf, sipping a mug of coffee that it lifts with both hoofs to its mouth. It sparked her as unusual to see such a sight, but no one in the shop seemed to mind. Not even the waitress that approached to ask the llama if it'd care for a refill or a muffin. It should have stunned everyone that a llama could do such a thing, but she had no idea that this would be the most normal part of her day.

The llama turns to her, pushes the glasses down its nose, and eyes her quizzically. "I say, do you happen to have the time?"

Mae looks at the llama in turn. In fact, she did not have the time handy just then. But the llama didn't seem to mind. "It's no matter, I have to return soon anyway. Perhaps you could help me?"

She didn't think she could help a talking, coffee drinking llama with anything but she was never one to turn down an animal in need. So she downed her coffee, paid, and followed the llama out the door.
